Nutrition
Tomorrow isn't a normal day.
A long-run day and a rest day are not the same day. Octane's logging knows what tomorrow asks, what the session just cost, and what you usually eat — and says so in one line at the top of the Add sheet.

One window at a time
The line that knows tomorrow's session.
Before a session, after it, or the day before a big one — one window at a time, read against the clock. Nothing logged at 9am is early, not low.
Tomorrow: Long Run • 16mi · 150 / 375 g carbs today
The day before a long run of this size asks for 400–560 g of carbohydrate at your bodyweight — a band from the literature, beside your own target.
- Pre-run fuel · 46 / 70 g carbs · by 7:00
- After your session · 12 / 40 g carbs · 26 g protein
What the session asks
Bands from the literature, scaled to you.
The day before a long run asks for a carbohydrate band by bodyweight; race week widens it. They are population guidance, not a measurement of you, and every band says so — and with no bodyweight on file, no gram figure is shown at all.
How it's said
- “Population physiology, not a measurement of you — a range to plan by.”
- “Octane never adjusts a target for you; it tells you what to expect.”
Targets that know what day it is
A target for each kind of training day.
Set calories, carbs, protein, fat, fibre, sodium and water for each kind of day, and Octane resolves the right one for the date. An insight can offer to move one — scoped, revertible, protein never lowered — and you apply it, or don't.

Water
A nudge only when you're behind.
Water against your own target, with a 3pm nudge only if you're behind: “42 of 110 oz so far — there's afternoon left to close the gap.”
Didn't log?
Say how you ate, in words.
A day with no log isn't a zero. Tell Octane how the day went — light, normal, heavy — and the figures show as marked estimates until the log is adequate. The training decision never reads the estimate; the numbers are the numbers.
Stack
What you take, on the same timeline.
Supplements, medications and GLP-1s logged as you state them, read as before-and-after medians with the confounds beside them. Octane records what you tell it you take — it never recommends, calculates or adjusts a dose.
FAQ
Questions, answered.
What does nutrition have to do with training decisions?
Tomorrow's long run is fuelled tonight. Octane knows the session is coming, so the Add sheet carries one line — “Tomorrow: Long Run • 16mi · 249 / 375 g carbs today” — and yesterday's intake is one of the seven rows behind today's decision.
Does it calculate doses?
No. Octane records what you tell it you take — a name, an amount as you state it, and whether it was logged. It never recommends, calculates or adjusts a dose, and the line about your stack on Today is a count only.
Does the voice recording leave my phone?
No. Speech is turned into text on this phone. The recording never leaves it. “My normal breakfast” and “same as yesterday” are answered from your own log, with no model involved; anything else goes to the model as text and you check it before it is logged.
What's free, what's Pro, and what does it cost?
Free collects — connections, logging, workout numbers, the decision and its buttons, the check-in. Pro interprets — the Why, the session read, the morning after, the brief, the Stack response, the season — at $14.99/mo or $99.99/yr with a 14-day free trial. Founding is $69.99/yr.
