For hybrid athletes

Your watch recorded the workout. Octane reads it as the session it was.

Running, lifting and station work on one timeline — a strength session read as a strength session, a simulation read as sixteen segments, and a morning decision that knows a sim on a strength day is a hard day.

Every session counts

A lift is a lift, not a slow run.

Strength, functional, HIIT, rowing, cycling and the rest arrive from your watch or Apple Health as sessions in their own right — duration, heart rate, energy — with no pacing claims made about them. The morning after reads what they cost like any run.

What Octane learns from them

  • “Your strength and station sessions sit at 139–158 bpm — 4 sessions with heart rate since Thu Aug 6.”

Four sessions with heart rate before a range is stated; until then, a count.

A hard day is what the plan says

A simulation on a strength day is still a hard day.

The morning decision reads the planned session, not the label of the day. A station session, a compromised run or a sim asks for the same care as intervals when sleep or resting heart rate sits outside your usual range.

The decision

SHORTEN

Cut the volume today

Keep the session, shorten it. The intensity is not the problem here.

Sleep and your check-in sit outside your usual range; today asks for less.

  • 4h 40m last night.
  • You said: feeling off · poor sleep.
  • Today is the cheap day to absorb this — VO2 intervals on Thu Sep 17 is the one worth protecting.

Instead

5 mi → 3.5 mi, same pace

  • Run 3.5 mi instead of 5 mi, at the planned pace.

And if you'd rather move it, move it: any Octane session can be moved, skipped or restored from the plan, and a watch that receives Octane's sessions follows.

Octane never moves a session for you, never adds one, and never reads an illness into a bad night.

Everything for HYROX athletes

Two goals

Running + strength, on one season.

A season with running days and strength sessions, weekday and weekend caps, the kit at each place you train, and every dated event you name. Or keep the plan you have and let Octane read it.

Fuel

Fuel windows that know what the session is.

Pre-session, post-session and the day before, as bands from the literature scaled to you — with no bodyweight on file, no gram figure at all.

Tomorrow: Long Run • 16mi · 150 / 375 g carbs today

The day before a long run of this size asks for 400–560 g of carbohydrate at your bodyweight — a band from the literature, beside your own target.

  • Pre-run fuel · 46 / 70 g carbs · by 7:00
  • After your session · 12 / 40 g carbs · 26 g protein

FAQ

Questions, answered.

I do HYROX. What does Octane read from a simulation?

Each run and each station, from your lap presses or the step markers of a session Octane sent to your watch. Every station is read against your own earlier sims at the same load, and the late runs against the early ones — held, slowed or faded. It never ranks a station as a weakness and never says why.

I already use Garmin, Oura and Runna. Do I need this — and does it replace them?

Each understands one part of you: the plan, the run, the night. Octane is the reading across all of them, plus your check-in, what you ate and what you take — it never replaces them, and never writes anything back.

Will Octane move my intervals to another day?

Not on its own. When a morning asks for less, Octane says what today's session should become — shorter, easier, or a recovery day — in the plan's own units. Moving a session is yours: any Octane session can be moved, skipped or restored from the plan, and a watch that receives Octane's sessions follows. Sessions from Runna or another plan are moved in their own app.

What's free, what's Pro, and what does it cost?
